Vanes horizontal: the view comes through the sheers, softened. Daylight fills the room.
Sheer Shades
Soft fabric vanes float between two layers of sheer. Rotate them open for the view, angle them for filtered daylight, close them for privacy. PerfectSheer™ shades in light-filtering and room-darkening fabrics, installed by PAPABLINDS across the Greater Seattle Area.
The vanes are fabric, suspended between two sheer layers. A wand or a motor rotates them, and the whole shade also lifts like a roller.
Vanes horizontal: the view comes through the sheers, softened. Daylight fills the room.
Vanes angled: glare cut, light diffused, the outside blurred. The setting most rooms live in.
Vanes overlapping: privacy, and with room-darkening vanes a dim room for sleep.
A blind gives you tilt; a shade gives you softness. PerfectSheer™ gives you both: the vanes tilt like slats, but they are fabric, and the sheer layers in front and behind turn hard daylight into a glow. Raised, the whole thing rolls up out of the way like a roller shade.
It is the shade for the living room window you look through all day and the bedroom window you want soft in the morning. The seams are double-layered fabric, not adhesive, which is what keeps the vanes straight over years of tilting.

Neither is blackout: the sheer layers let a little light through at the edges. For full dark, see blackout shades.
Open in the morning, tilted at 3 p.m. when the sun swings around, closed at dusk.
Tilted vanes take the glare off glass and dishes without closing the room.
Dim for sleep, soft in the morning, open by day. Add a shade behind for full blackout.
A quarter turn of the wand at the hour the sun hits the monitor.
No. A sheer curtain is one layer of thin fabric. A PerfectSheer™ shade is two sheer layers with fabric vanes between them that tilt, so it controls light the way a blind does and rolls up like a roller shade.
With the vanes closed, no; the vanes overlap and block the view. With the vanes open, the sheers show silhouettes with the lights on, so close them at dusk.
Dust with a soft brush or a vacuum on low with the brush attachment. Spot-clean with a damp cloth. Sheer layers are not meant for soaking or machine washing.
A wand is fine for one or two reachable windows. For a bank of windows or a tall one, motorization tilts and lifts every shade together from a remote or the app.
Sheer shades solve the problem a plain roller shade cannot: a window you want to look through most of the day but soften at certain hours. Norman’s PerfectSheer™ suspends fabric vanes between two sheer layers; the vanes rotate for light and privacy, and the shade lifts out of the way like a roller. PAPABLINDS measures and installs them in Seattle, Bellevue, Kirkland, Redmond, and nearby communities.
A west-facing living room in Bellevue or Kirkland gets a low sun at the end of the day, and a sheer shade is the covering that handles it without closing the room: vanes open until the glare arrives, tilted for an hour, open again. The sheers keep the outside softly visible the whole time.
Room-darkening vanes in one of nine colors dim the room for sleep and open to a soft morning. For a bedroom that must be fully dark, a room-darkening roller or cellular shade behind the sheer does that job; the sheer alone lets a little light in at the edges.
Nineteen light-filtering colors for rooms that want a glow when closed; nine room-darkening colors for rooms that want dim. The sheer layers are the same in both, so the open view is identical.
