How motorized tilt works.

The motor moves the louvers, not the panels. Everything else about the shutter stays the same.

1Choose the shutter lineWoodlore Plus or Normandy carry the PerfectTilt G4 motor. Frame, louver size, and color are chosen exactly as they would be without it.
2The motor is built in at the factoryThe tilt mechanism arrives inside the panel. Nothing is bolted onto the face of the shutter, and there is no wiring into the wall.
3Control it your wayA remote, the Norman app on your phone, schedules for morning and evening, and a security mode that moves the louvers while you are away.

Power: Battery-powered motor. Solar recharging is available on some configurations, including Normandy skylight shutters. We confirm the power option for your window at the visit.
Noise: Quiet operation with an auto-brake, so the louvers stop where they are set.
Control: Handheld remote, the Norman app, timed schedules, and a security mode.
Wiring: None. No electrician, no cutting into the wall.
Existing shutters: PerfectTilt is ordered with new shutters. If you already have Norman shutters, ask us; retrofit depends on the line and its age.

Motorized shutter questions.

Do I need an electrician?

No. PerfectTilt G4 is battery-powered, so there is no wiring into the wall and no outlet needed at the window.

Does it work with Alexa or Google Home?

Control is through the Norman remote and the Norman app. Ask us about current smart-home integrations before you order, because that list changes from year to year.

How loud is it?

Quiet enough for a bedroom. The motor moves the louvers slowly and stops with an auto-brake.

What happens when the battery runs down?

You recharge it. On solar-equipped configurations it tops itself up from the window’s own light. Until then the louvers hold their last position.

Motorized shutters for hard-to-reach windows

Great-room windows above the first story, stairwell windows, and windows behind furniture or a soaking tub are where motorized tilt earns its cost. PerfectTilt™ G4 motorizes the louvers of Woodlore® Plus and Normandy® shutters and is controlled from a remote or the Norman® app, with schedules and a security mode. PAPABLINDS installs motorized shutters across Seattle, Bellevue, Kirkland, and Redmond.

Motorized and manual on the same wall

You do not have to motorize every window. A common Eastside layout is a two-story great room with reachable windows below and a clerestory row above: manual tilt on the lower row, PerfectTilt™ on the upper row, in the same line, color, and louver size, so nothing looks different from the sofa.

Batteries, solar, and wiring

PerfectTilt™ G4 is battery-powered, so there is no wiring and no electrician. Solar charging is available on some configurations, including Normandy® skylight shutters, and we confirm the power option for each window at the visit. Nothing about the frame or the mount changes because the tilt is motorized.
